Retainers

Retainers are as important as the treatment itself. All teeth will have a natural tendency to move back towards where they have come from to some extent. Therefore you will need to wear retainers afterwards to maintain your new smile.

This may involve fitting a fixed retainer to the back of the upper and lower front teeth which cannot be seen and will also usually involve some clear retainers to wear at night. Retainers are for life to maintain good alignment. This means you will always need to pop a retainer in a few nights a week to maintain the new smile you have invested in.
