Jaw Surgery

Sometimes in adult cases and adolescents who have stopped growing jaw surgery may be necessary. This is where there is a significant disproportion between the size of the top and bottom jaw, i.e. upper front teeth or lower front teeth are too protrusive or the upper and lower front teeth cannot come together when biting.

This is also dependent on the patients concerns and if jaw surgery is prescribed then a consultation with a Maxillofacial surgeon is arranged. Treatment of such cases are carried out in coordinated approach between orthodontist and surgeon.
